Yes, Chocolate is Good For You! Cooking Vegan Chocolate with Jinji Fraser
Join the founder of Pure Chocolate by Jinji, Jinji Fraser, for a journey deep into the world of chocolate. This complex food has been around for centuries — perhaps as far back as 1900 BCE! The Aztecs believed that cacao seeds were the gift of Quetzalcoatl, the God of wisdom, and the seeds had so much value they were used as a form of currency. Originally prepared only as a drink, chocolate was served as a bitter, frothy liquid, mixed with spices, wine or corn puree. Oh how chocolate has evolved! Jinji will teach us how to use chocolatein the kitchen — as a meal in itself, as a drink, and even with exotic spices! We will also talk about how chocolate fits into the Ayurvedic diet and how it can be used as medicine!

Meditation in Hampden/Woodberry
We meet the First and Third Tuesday of the month.
Join us for a short Dharma talk, meditation instruction, breath-work, and 30-minutes sitting meditation. To these classes Susan brings her years of experience with many different types of meditation including Vedic, Vipassana, Jewish and Buddhist studies. This light-hearted group is a perfect sangha (community) for those seeking a place to meditate and meet others along the path. All levels of meditators are welcome!
Class is facilitated by Susan Weis-Bohlen. Susan has been meditating for over 20 years and has been teaching for nearly 7 years. Many people have been able to create a regular meditation practice by anchoring their week with this group meditation. The benefits of meditation include reducing stress, anxiety, and drama in your life, sleeping better, the ability to manifest desires more easily and to learn that true happiness comes from within.
Wear comfortable clothing. Chairs and meditation cushions provided, but please bring a cushion if you have one. You don’t need to bring anything but yourself. If you can breathe, you can meditate!
Time: 6 pm – 7:15 pm
Place: 2050 Rockrose Ave, 21211 (enter via doorway at the top of the green stairs (with a blue handrail that has Itineris and The Pointe. Park in the front lot.)

So many of my clients think they don’t have time to put together Ayurvedic meals — nutritious, easy-to-digest, wholesome, organic vegetarian meals. But you DO have time! I can show you how to do it. People always want to know how we eat at my house: we make food, eat food, make food, eat food…barely any leftovers. I will share my personal recipes and ideas on how to incorporate Ayurvedic cooking into your daily routine. And it’s not time consuming once you have the tools in place, know what foods to buy and how to put together one-pot-meals that will make you and your family happy!
I’ll also talk about Ayurvedic tips that you can easily put into your daily routine which will help you reduce stress, sleep better, find your perfect weight, and feel more balanced in body, mind and spirit!
Take this class on Wednesday, February 17. And come *shopping with me on Saturday, February 20 to learn where and what to buy!
Cost: Cooking class: $55; Shopping trip $40.

* Shopping trip meets at Wegmans in Hunt Valley at 10 am on Saturday, Feb. 20, then we will go to the Indian Market at York and Cranbrook Rd., and finally to MOMs Market at York and Ridgley. Handouts and shopping bags included in price! Total time about 3.5 hours.
