another day in Glastonbury
Who would have thought to bring sunblock to England? Man – we are TAN! We spend almost all day outdoors, roaming around ancient sites, Michael and Mary Ley Lines, exploring our heart chakra at the earth’s heart chakra.
We all thought we’d be standing around in our rain ponchos and wellies making the best of it. But the universe had other plans. It gave us the Sun God! As we are also working on balancing our male and female energies on this trip, dealing with the masculine sun has proven to be education, at least to me. He requires you to move slowly. Be patient. Accept. Is that male energy? I’m not sure…but I could use more of those qualities, I’m sure.
Anyway, we spent the morning on Weary-All Hill where Joseph of Aramathea planted a tree from Jerusalem. Depending on who you talk to, he was either the uncle of Jesus or of Mary – or maybe both! The view on one side was classic English country-side, but the other was the English-version of Reisterstown Road in Pikesville. I wasn’t sure where to look.
We made our way down the hill to spend time at the Glastonbury Abbey where King Arthur is buried. I remember posing for a picture here in 1980 when I was 17. I can’t wait to compare the two!
Once again, sitting in our favorite cafe, Heaphy’s, (we’ve decided it’s a vortex) took up a few hours of our day. The Goddesses were making their way back into town from a walk up the Tor. They sort of came in one by one. I was hoping for a procession of Goddesses. Oh well. Next year maybe. A few of us bought ourselves Goddess dresses…
Monday we will go to Bath for the day and expereince a completely different type of British city. I’m lucky enough to have been there many times before and my friend Dana actually used to live there. I’m so looking forward to visitng again. It was a Roman playground. Play is good.
More tomorrow!
